BRAGGING TIME

Leanda is the daughter of our second child, Sissy and our second grand child. Blake is her husband and Ashlyn is their little girl and our great, granddaughter. We don't get to see her like we wish we could. But we cherish those moments when we are able to see her. We talk to her on the phone some time. They live somewhere in South Carolina.

Home Sweet Home

This is where Joe and I hang our hats. That is if we wore hats. We lived in the country, or what is known as the country now days. I was so depressed. Especially, when all the children left home. It was just me, Charlie, Miss Kitty, and a bunch of pine trees.

It is amazing what a move to the city or town can do for you. It's still me, Charlie, Miss Kitty, and trees, plus Humming Birds (I did have those up in the country). Joe is here, but soon he will go back on days. I can here things here. Like sirens, car sounds, you know all those city sounds. I'm a grinning cause I'm a living in the city. :) We moved here on March 28; my hmmm birthday.

WE GOT BIRDS!!!

A Few Humming Birds
I think Joe and I have really gone to the birds. They are so beautiful. They fly outside the front of the house. I open the blinds up and Miss Kitty just loves to watch them.
We have a feeder in the back yard for the wild birds. There are quiet a few of them, also. Maybe Joe will take a picture of them.

A Day of Worship

Sunday, August 24, 2008, Joe and I went to Sunday School and Morning Worship. There was only a few people there. We sang in the Choir and Brother Tom preached a very good sermon on 1 John 2:18-19.

It was a stormy Sunday, so maybe that kept a lot of the people away. After church we went out with Ron and Sybil to eat. Had a good lunch and wonderful fellowship. Then Joe and I went home and laid down for awhile. We got up and went to Choir practice and then stayed for evening worship. Brother Tom is speaking on the Book of Acts.

As you can see in the picture above, Miss Kitty enjoys reading the Bible also. On the left is a picture of our Church, isn't it pretty.

Two More In The Family

Charlie (dog) and Miss Kitty (cat)
I almost forgot to introduce you to Charlie and Miss Kitty, our pets. They have been with us for years. They get along with each other so well. Sometimes they are good and sometimes they are not so good. You know like children. You can't live with them and you can't live without them. Charlie likes to have us say the blessing before he eats. Miss Kitty will not come in our bedroom, unless we tell her it's alright.

Background Check!

Joe and Juanita's wedding---June 7, 1959
(we sent a copy to his sister on 09/27/2007)

Joe was born and raised in Kansas, USA. He was born in his Grandfather's house. Joe and his Mom and Dad lived with his Grandparents (his Mom's parents) for six years. They bought a house and had it moved on land up from his Grandparents.
He went to a one room school and then went in town for one year of junior high and his high school years. He walked one mile to the one room school, there and back home (total 2 miles). His Dad worked on the railroad and his Mom was a wonderful homemaker. He is the oldest of six children. His niece and her family live in the home where Joe was raised.
Joe joined the United States Air Force, much to his Mom's sorrow. After his training in San Antonio, Texas, he was stationed at Gunter A.F.B. in Montgomery, Alabama.
I was born and raised in Alabama, USA. I was born in a hospital in Montgomery. I lived in many different places. That's just the gypsy in my family! (Just kidding) I have two sisters. I am the middle child. We lived on Maxwell A.F.B. when I met Joe. I was also a senior in high school.

We met at the skating rink in Montgomery. I graduated on May 28, 1959. Joe and I got married June 7, 1959. Joe was stationed in France, July of 1959. I went over there in November of '59. We have lived in France, Texas, Hawaii, and Alabama.
